Wayne City man was injured after when his pickup truck hit a deer on the 161
extension Friday night. 31-year-old
James Burge had just passed another vehicle at a high rate of speed when he
struck a deer. The pickup then left the road, jumped a ditch, traveled
through the corner of a field, crossed Johnson Road, went up an embankment, and
then through a fence before stopping in a field. Marion
County Sheriff Kevin Cripps says Burge left with a family member who may have
taken him for medical treatment. The
accident was reported at 9:20 Friday night. On
Thursday at approximately 4:35 pm Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a
report of a vehicle striking a utility pole in Cisne. On arrival Deputies
made contact with Davide Boone Dillon Vaughn, 37 of Xenia. After
an investigation Vaughn was placed under arrest for driving under the influence
and cited for Failure to reduce speed to avoid and accident.
