SENTENCING DELAYED 2/28/25 The
sentencing of a Fairfield woman whose child died in a hot car last July has
been delayed. Aydreian Hooper, 36, had been set for
sentencing yesterday but the matter was was delayed
because the judge that took the defendant’s plea, Thomas Dinn, was not
available. Newly
appointed Judge Matt Vaughn set the matter for sentencing April 3rd
and requested the Chief Judge make Judge Dinn available for the April 3rd
sentencing. Hooper
entered an open guilty plea to a Class-3 felony charge of child endangerment
causing a death, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
The case dates back to July 14 of last year when
Hooper left two of her children unattended in a hot car for hours. Aydreian Hooper has been fitted with a GPS monitoring
device and remains free pending the new sentencing date.
