BANK FRAUD CAUGHT

On Thursday at approximately 2:00 pm, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies along with the Fairfield Police Department were dispatched to subjects attempting to cash fraudulent checks at Fairfield National Bank.  49-year-old, Kevin W. Burris of Decatur, was detained at the bank by responding officers.  The Sheriff’s Office continued the investigation and it was determined that Burris and a second individual Brandon S. Missel, age 41, also of Decatur had both cashed fraudulent checks at Bean Capital Bank in Wayne City.  Burris was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail.  The second suspect Brandon Missel was located by Deputies a short time later at the Budget Inn in Fairfield.  Missel was also taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail.

Both were preliminarily charged with, Deceptive Practice/Bank Related Fraud.
